How Could You Be So Heartless. LOL.

For the last 36 hours the internet has been abuzz and at the top of the trending topics and google searches is one man, Kanye West. During Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, Mr. West went on stage after they announced Taylor Swift’s name for the Female Video of the year. Now I will be the first to admit that when they announced Taylor’s name as opposed to Beyonce, Pink, or even Lady Gaga, I was twittering away about my surprise at the choice but none of us could have prepared for Kanye’s stunt. He climbed on stage during her speech and snatched the microphone away from her. He then proclaimed that Beyonce should have won. (please see the video clip below). While he was doing it I kicked out about five tweets, and about 20 minutes later, he was a trending topic.

Kanye’s Beyonce outburst mimicked everyone’s thoughts when they read Taylor swift’s name, fortunately or unfortunately, he was in the position and obviously inebriated enough to jump on stage and say it. I read some of the public tweets and there was talk of racism, with the n word being tossed around, lots of douche bags (The AntiPopBlog called him the Doucher of the Day), and a slew of other negative things that I thought were a bit over the top, but were all a reflection of how people felt nonetheless. While I thought what Kanye did was mean, I never felt like he was the devil or evil, or stealing candy from a baby as some tweets pointed out. Maybe I am heartless or maybe I just didn’t see it as a big deal. West later took to his website to issue an apology and did the same today as well.

Today proved to be one of Kanye’s worst days as a celebrity, sure but lucky for him he had a chance to redeem himself, in the form of Jay Leno’s premiere on which he was slated to perform with Jay-Z and Rhianna. Prior to the performance, Jay Leno brought out Kanye who requested a chance to speak. He was apologetic and based on his appearance, it was clear that he was sincere. Jay asked him how his mother would feel about it and his 20 second pause and struggle to hold back tears showed his sincerity.

I must say that I am kinda on Kanye’s side. As far as what he did to Taylor, it was rude, but in his defense, we were all thinking the same thing, he just had the balls to voice his opinion. And while its not an excuse, he had been sipping on Hennessey the whole night, starting from the red carpet.

I think when he sobered up and realized it didn’t go over as well as his drunk mind may have thought it would’ve, he sincerely apologized. So I suppose now the question becomes do we forgive this man who continues to act out? A man who lost his mother, who was one of his closest friends, and never took time to mourn. A man who is fed up with not being able to lead a private life when he wants to, as he is constantly hounded by paparazzi. A man who is egotistical and also emotionally unstable. How do we deal with him when he acts out? I honestly think we expect too much of celebrities. They are still people. They can be mean, they can be rude, they can be nice, then can be anything that someone in your everyday life is. We expect them to be perfect, but why? If we look at all of the deaths that have happened as of late, we can see what happens when celebrities are pushed to the limits, while they don’t deal with financial issues, such as job loss, and healthcare, they deal with things that most regular people cannot imagine. They end up addicted to drugs, they party too hard, and they act out in egotistical ways. Imagine not being able to do something as simple as going to Target. That is something Kanye can’t do and something Michael Jackson couldn’t do. Imagine how that could effect someone. When my ex put me on a pedestal I couldn’t stand it, imagine the whole world putting you on a pedestal. So while I feel bad for what happened to Taylor Swift during her special moment, nothing in me wanted to jump on the I Hate Kanye band wagon.

Okay this be my very last rant on the Kanye West fiasco, because I like the guy as an artist but I’m tired of watching him make a JACKASS of himself, though I concur on what he said about George W. Bush, that was spot on.

I know exactly what the brother needs, I know what his problem is, Serena Williams has the same exact problem. And I can tell you who DOES NOT have their problem as a point of contrast, Allyson Felix, without a doubt. I could tell from the glow on her face that she has something real in her life. It didn’t matter if she won or lost in her recent competitions because she has someone who reminds her what it is to be alive. More than that, she has something inside of her speaking to that other person in her life. Anybody with eyes could see the positive energy radiating from her. And she told me on twitter she was happy. :)

And from seeing Allyson, and feeling her, I can tell that Serena and Kanye ain’t got that, they got no one like that, and they ain’t got what she has to offer another person.

All they’ve got is their respective game and music, and that ain’t enough in this life. Look at Kanye with his trophy girlfriend, showing her off everywhere he goes, maybe he tells himself he’s in love with her, but I doubt it because he’s empty inside, looking to fill that space with a show, a performance, instead bathing in the light of something real and alive. Something outside and beyond of the ego.

Poor Serena, in the best shape of her tennis life, and she folds up and has a meltdown on the tennis court, beating herself, because the fact is ain’t nobody in the tennis world but Venus can take her. I’ve been watching her beat herself since she was 16. I can count the number of times she’s been beaten outright by another player on one hand, most of the time she takes herself out of the game like she did the other day.

And I’ve read her various blogs, and it’s obvious to me what she longs for, and has yet to find. What happened to her on the tennis court was a manifestation of the emptiness that she feels, the aloneness that presses hard upon her these days. She wants it to go away, she’s tried to fill the empty space, but the demons that haunt her, they could no longer be contained or controlled when the anger at her own loneliness overwhelm her. Why the hell is she alone, we saw why on the tennis court. That rage is frightening and sad.

Though they seem well rounded, both of the sisters constantly talk about their overwhelming competitive nature. Venus doesn’t worry me too much, she’s got a strength and an even handedness to her temperament yet she seems to have the same difficulty though to a lesser extent, I think she’ll be okay in the end. But Serena, I can see now that she’s in real trouble. She doesn’t need a man, she needs a love. And she needs to get in touch with her self, get a hold of what’s creating all that anger, I understand her all too well. I wish I didn’t.

Back to Kanye, you know that motha’ Fucka’ would never dare pull some microphone grabbing Bullshit on 50-cent, or any sistah in the music world either. He grabbed a microphone away from that teenage white girl because he didn’t have any respect for her or her music.

I don’t even know who Taylor Swift is beyond the name, just that she’s a country music singer and songwriter. And I imagine that’s all Kanye knows about her as well, he’s not into her kind of music, maybe he’s never even listened to her sing or even seen the video that won her the award, I haven’t. He wasn’t even thinking about her, and that was the problem, she wasn’t even a person to him, let alone an artist and a peer. She was just in the way, in the way of him having his say, righting what he saw as a terrible injustice. Maybe if he hadn’t been drinking, he would’ve done what all civilized people do in these instances, trash someone after the award ceremonies, or in the press, or under his breath, whatever. Not impose his physical presence on someone who was apparently nothing but some nothing country singer holding the microphone that Beyoncé should’ve been holding.

Give me a break man. The alcohol wasn’t responsible, the alcohol just let us see the ugliness that lies hidden in you Kanye. I know that ugliness well, I used to see it in my family members, and it scared the Fuck out of me when I was a kid. Doubtless Mr. West has had similar experiences. Better get a handle on it my brother, or that he will be your undoing. Take it from someone who knows.

Fact is Kanye ain’t got the guts to go after who he really should have gone after, the people making the decisions, whoever the judges were, I don’t even know, nor do I care to know because I don’t give a crap about award ceremonies. But Kanye does apparently, so why doesn’t he have the balls to stand up to the music producers and the record companies and all the slime bags in the business that have all the influence and power, because it sure ain’t Taylor Alison Swift who didn’t do anything to him or anybody he knows.

Yet here he is disrespecting some white girl publicly, because he’s a drunk asshole, and he can do anything he wants and get away with it. What does he care what the tens of millions of Americans, as well as the hundreds of millions of people around the world, what the hell does he care what they think. He doesn’t give one thought to the impact it has on all those White redneck country music fans who don’t need additional reasons to hate on Black folks, they’ve got enough reason already. He can do anything he wants because Obama is president and we live in a post-racial America, yell right mother Fucker, and I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell your punk, child in a man’s body, ass.

I just heard a story today about some big white guy beating a black mother in front of her child in a store, because she said something to him he didn’t like. I wonder if that piece of trash was watching Kanye pull that microphone Bullshit. Guess what Mr. West, your actions have repercussions all around the world, that’s what it means to be an internationally known superstar. It’s a responsibility, it’s a burden, either start living up to your responsibilities, and have the guts to speak up against those who are in control of everything in the music business, that would take some genuine courage, or relinquish this burden to others who are more emotionally capable of dealing with it responsibly and with something approaching respect for other artists and the work they do.

Obviously the loss of his mother was a very bad thing for him, because Mr. West CENTER has lost its hold and his perspective is badly impaired and not by the Hennessy, I suspect down deep he knows what’s really important, because we all hear it in his music, and it sure the Fuck ain’t awards is it Kanye?

I think we should hook Kanye up with Serena, unfortunately their mutual emptiness cannot be filled by another person with the same emptiness, they’ve got to find a way to center themselves first, get a handle on those things within them, otherwise they’re going to go the way of so many others who end up destroying themselves in the end. The list is a long and storied one, peppered with the names of Giants like Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin and Jackson. The list goes on endlessly throughout human history. They were all trying to fill that hole, but instead they got dragged down into it, despite their talent and all the fame, fortune and adulation. And this is the fate of everyone who doesn’t find a way to come to grips with who they are, find a way to open themselves up and let go of all the pain, and not be afraid anymore.

Life is simple, you find a way to do this, or you end up alone and unloved without anyone, and you die alone because nobody cares, because you don’t care about yourself.

And that’s all I’ve got to say on the subject except to Kanye, man the Fuck up bitch before you get your ass beat six ways from Sunday. Not that many years ago, the kind of Shit you pulled could very well get a black man castrated and lynched, how quickly some forget. You think about this, right now in America some black folks are paying the price for what you did, don’t doubt it for a second my brother.

Here’s some advice to Mr. West and Ms. Williams, get out of yourselves, start doing things for other people, helping them, let your egos and ambitions evaporate, and maybe just maybe you will begin to see.

Apologies to the blog owner Mrs. San Diego for this, I haven’t slept in 48 hours and sometimes that kicks my brain into overdrive, time to go to bed.
